The Atlantic Ocean as seen from the airplane

Over the weekend, Air France Flight 447 tragically disappeared over the Atlantic en route from Rio to  Paris.  Will we ever know what happened?   How will the “black box” and flight data recorders be recovered  from waters an estimated 12,000 feet deep?

A French exploration ship is due to arrive at the scene sometime Friday, equipped with robotics that can work at  up to  20,000 feet.  That team is the same group who worked with UP  2009 speaker Dr. Robert Ballard to find the Titanic.

An ABC news story acknowledges Robert Ballard’s “unique perspective” on the recovery efforts.   One thing is for certain:  unique problems demand unique solutions.  Cutting-edge innovators like Ballard are known for their ability to solve real problems.  You’ll be able to  hear 15 Unique Perspectives on October 15.
